Self-styled online doom prophets claim the super blue blood Moon, due to take place on January 31, was written into the Bible thousands of years ago as a warning before the “end of days” before The Rapture begins and the second coming of Christ.
At the forefront of the claims is pastor Paul Begley, who runs Paul Begley Prophecy Ministeries, based in the US.
He warned in a YouTube video that: “We are living in the last days.”
Mr Begley said documents leaked by the Pentagon showed “Russia is working on a robot-controlled ’Doomsday Torpedo’ that can be used to hit coastal cities.
He said: “The Russians are developing a city-killing Doomsday Torpedo called the Kanyon that can leave a country’s coastline uninhabitable for decades.
“It is powered by robot AI technology and has a 100 mega-tonne thermal nuclear weapon – the same explosive force as 100 million tonnes of TNT.
“It is twice as powerful as the most powerful thermal nuclear weapon that has ever been tested.”
Pentagon papers describe the torpedo as a “new intercontinental, nuclear-armed, undersea autonomous torpedo”.
It has been codenamed Kanyon by NATO.
Mr Begley also pointed to news that cables carrying internet to the Middle east and Europe from the US, that run under the sea, had been cut, with many pointing the finger at Russia, something which the country vehement+ ADD more CONTENT to this pagely denies.
More than 95 percent of everything that moves on the global Internet passes through just 200 undersea fiber-optic cables.
Mr Begley said: “Internet cables have been cut, cables that go underground to the Middle East.
“Apparently they have been cut and they have been trying to say Russia did it.
“The Russians say we had nothing to do with, but this is the kind of stuff that is starting to surface.”
He said news about claims Russians had sabotage internet cables and were developing a deadly torpedo were all omens of what is to come after the lunar event.
Mr Begley said WW3 would begin after “an attack on Israel”.
He said the US declaring Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and the decision to locate the US embassy there had both been significant signs in the run up to “the end”.
The prophet said: “When this happens the next thing will be preparation of the building of the third temple, meaning we are so close to coming of the Messiah.
“It is certainly a Biblical sign – are you serious?”
Other fundamentalist Christians point to a verse in Luke 21:25-26, which says the end is near when the signs appear.
According to the verse, Christ says: “And there will be signs in Sun and Moon and stars, and on the Earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world.
“For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”
Wesley Baines of Christian site belief.net said: “Whatever the case, when the sky darkens and the stars disappear and the moon becomes red as blood, you will know that Christ is near.”
Fortunately for us people like them have been predicting the end of the world for years, and, so far none have got it right.
There is no conclusive proof that the Bible actually contains any hidden codes.
Mr Begley has been running his YouTube channel with videos claiming “we are in the final days” for the past eight years.
